Idea:
For this project I wanted to make a a working robotic spider that crawled like a spider. I had no idea what I was getting myself into because I didn’t know how hectic coding and Arduino stuff was.
Process:
I started off by 3D molding a rough body of a spider where an Arduino could sit inside with the wires coming out of these little side holes.
Next, I created a rough 3D modal of a leg
Afterwards I chose to refine both the leg and the body to look better and be more practical. I made the leg in segments so that the 3 servos in the leg that would control the movement could move the pieces freely.

The white things on the leg is where a servo would go
These white things are servo holders
The highlighted portion is where the servo holders attach to the spider body
From here, I simply played around until the scale of the spider and servo holders were correct and printed them out. This final thing ended up being my final project as I had run out of time and hadn’t been able to figure out how to make an 8 legged quadruped.

Reflection:
This projects outcome defiantly wasn’t what I was hoping for, but I did learn that I can’t do everything on my first try and that If I want to do a super complicated project I need to dedicate time to practicing and studying what i am making before construction. This project may not have been my favorite, but in terms of this being a school class this is probably the best outcome that could have happened, because there is no point in trying things if you already know what the outcome will be.
